Nice little place very cozy makes me feel like I'm really at grandmas house with all the family pictures on the walls. The coffee is great food is good really tastes like home cookin. Everyone seems like they know everyone. A lot of regulars come through here I see that's great. The staff actually likes to have a conversation with you makes you feel at home. Two thumbs up.

While traveling thru Wisconsin Rapids wanted to grab a bite to eat. So I checked YELP to see what was i the area and found this place, stopped in for a little breakfast. Ordered pancakes and coffee, everything was good and the price I think was good. If I lived closer to this place I would stop almost everyday.

Cheap eats in a diner inside an old World War 2 "Quonset hut" (per Wikipedia a lightweight prefabricated structure of corrugated galvanized steel having a semicircular cross section. The design was based on the Nissen hut developed by the British during World War I)/ Think of building a house out of a super huge drainage pipe. We got our food faster than a person could get food from a fast food restaurant! Expect to get full for under $6 - comfort food is whats on the menu. This place is a classic greasy spoon, and they get 4 stars because the whole quonset hut thing is SUPER cool.

This little cafe is great if you're looking for basic food for reasonable prices. I had the Grandma Burger, which was topped with mushrooms, fried onions and swiss cheese, and it was very tasty. The burger was on the smaller side, which I actually like since so many places serve only ridiculously huge burgers that I can never finish. My wife had the pea soup which seemed to be made from scratch, and a reuben sandwich. She enjoyed both. According to the menu, they have potato pancakes on Wednesday, and biscuits and gravy on Thursday, both while supplies last. I plan on going back to try them out. Note that they are only open for breakfast and lunch. They only take cash, so if your wallet is empty, stop at the BP station down the road for an ATM or the IGA across the street (where you can get debit cash back with any purchase).

yo! i drove past this place for 4 years before stopping in. i pride myself in "greasy spoon" experience and this is by no means a greasy spoon as more of a national landmark. standing room only on the weekends: awesome bacon and sausage:gravy to die for. straight up 100% grandma legit food. its packed alllll the time as my friend said, " it's great food"!

It's a Quonset Hut. With a lunch counter. Do you really need any more reasons to go than that? If you do, the breakfast is excellent too :)

How often can you have breakfast in a Quonset Hut? Really! It was moved to its current location from Camp Douglas. The food is your typical breakfast, eggs, bacon, hash browns, pancakes, and more. The food is excellent, service is friendly and prices so low that you almost feel it's a crime to pay so little for such a good breakfast. If your in the area it's worth the trip for a great breakfast and as bonus you could tell your friends that you ate in a Quonset Hut too!

Does this count as a visit to your Grandma's House? It should! Besides this little place being in hut, it totally feels like I am sitting in someone's (Grandmas) house having a meal. The food is good, fast and cheap. I love finding places like this on Yelp! The walls are filled with family pictures. Grandchildren from young to old. Old military pictures and some of the same trinkets that sat around my grandmothers house. Only weird experience was in the parking lot when an old lady came running out of the Laundromat next door to tell me how bad her day was going.... And then to ask for some money. Not for her of course, it was for her cat! Poor thing was hungry! Wow!

Cute place..found it here on YELP... Lol.. A diner in a quonset hut?! Yes...it is. Cheap eats.. Good taste. I had cakes and eggs.. Hubby had a Denver omlette.
